Our History

Antonio Capobianco immigrated to Canada in 1961. Like many others Antonio hoped to provide a better living for his family. After a few years of working for others, he decided to follow his entrepreneurial spirit and go on his own. He entered the booming construction industry and decided to specialize in residential paving and sealing. With very little resources available, he started small with a wheelbarrow, shovel, pick and a small truck. With very little English Antonio realized he would have to market himself differently than his competitors if he was to survive in the industry and provide for his family. Without the resources or capability to market himself, he relied solely on referrals to fuel his business. Spending the time and money to do a proper job; he took pride in himself and his company on “Only needing to do the job once”. As his cliental grew, he needed a name for his company. His vision and focus were set on longevity and growth and had hoped that one day his company would be able to complete all work associated with paving. In 1966, Associated Paving was born.

Antonio was succeeded by his son, Stan Capobianco who had worked closely with his father from the early days. Following the entrepreneurial spirit, Stan continued leading the company with longevity and growth in mind. In the years that followed, Stan expanded the business into commercial and municipal sectors. Adding a concrete division, road milling division, and excavation and grading division, Stan was committed to fulfilling the legacy that his family started. In 1994, Stan erected an asphalt manufacturing plant in Burlington, Ontario; committing to his cliental to not only provide superior workmanship but also quality material. Through hard work, sacrifice and remaining dedicated to his principles, Stan grew the business to become a respected giant in the road building industry.

Stan is currently joined by his son who manages the day to day operations of the company. With over 100 employees, we are proud to be joined by a work force that shares our passion for the work. Through the years of business and generations of succession, the Capobianco family has continued to commit superior workmanship and materials to all its cliental. With longevity and growth maintained as our vision, we pride ourselves on remaining focused on our reputation for quality of work since 1966.
